Introduction

At galacolegio.com, we are actively working to ensure digital accessibility in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018 of 7 September on the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications, as well as the updates introduced by Royal Decree 193/2023, which will come into force in June 2025.

Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can browse, understand, and use our website without barriers.

Applicable Regulatory Framework

Royal Decree 1112/2018

This decree sets out the accessibility requirements for public sector websites and mobile applications. It establishes that digital content must comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA.

Royal Decree 193/2023

This regulation defines the basic conditions for accessibility and non-discrimination for people with disabilities in accessing and using goods and services available to the public. It states that all websites and mobile applications whose content relates to publicly available goods and services must comply with the accessibility standard UNE-EN 301549. It will come into effect in June 2025 and will apply to any website or mobile app that refers to the provision of publicly available goods or services.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements set out in Royal Decree 1112/2018 due to the following limitations.

Non-accessible Content

Despite our best efforts to ensure all content is accessible, some limitations remain:

Non-compliance

  • Some published videos do not include subtitles, sign language interpretation, audio description, or a textual description of the content.

Disproportionate burden

  • Certain older PDF documents do not meet all accessibility requirements. Adapting them would involve a disproportionate effort, although we are progressively updating or replacing them.

Adopted Accessibility Level

The website galacolegio.com meets WCAG level AA, which includes:

  • Level A: The minimum accessibility requirements that are essential to ensure a basic level of accessibility.
  • Level AA: A higher standard that addresses a broader range of accessibility issues, significantly improving usability and comprehension for a wider audience.
